Dr. Puneet Sahgal completed Internal Medicine training at Columbia University - Harlem Hospital Center, New York, in 1992. He completed Cardiovascular Medicine training at University of California, San Francisco and Nassau County Medical Center, in 1995. Dr. Sahgal then finished Interventional Cardiology training at University of Louisville, Kentucky, in 1996. Dr. Sahgal was nominated as best resident every year during his residency and published research in national journals during his fellowship.

Dr. Sahgal has been in practice in Middlesex County since 1996, and is affiliated with all major area hospitals. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine. He is also Certified in Vascular Interpretation. He has served on various leadership positions at Raritan Bay Medical Center. At present, he is serving as Vice President of Medical Staff. He has been the Medical Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Raritan Bay Medical Center. At present he is the Chairman, Department of Medicine at Raritan Bay Medical Center.

Dr. Sahgal sees patients every day at various offices, during week days; he also makes daily hospital rounds for his hospitalized patients. He performs varicose vein treatments and vein closure procedures at his veincare facility and complex cardiac angioplasties and stents at the hospital.

On November 1, 2014, he was awarded Excellence in Healthcare Award by New Jersey State Legislature, at the annual RBMC Foundation Harbour Lights Gala Dinner.

Dr. Sahgal is married to his dear wife Angela, and they have three children. Param is doing residency training in Psychiatry at Trinitas Hospital. He is married to his dear wife Pooja, who is working as a Physician Assistant and they have a baby boy Vedaan. Priya is studying at Manmouth University to become a Physician Assistant. Their youngest son Gaurav has graduated from Ranney school, is an Eagle Scout, Varsity tennis player and will be studying Engineering at Temple University.
